On Saturday, LA 2024 Vice Chair Janet Evans will announce the final 2016 U.S. Olympic Team at a fan event in Venice Beach. The announcement will take place at 12:45 p.m. PT and will air on @TeamUSA via Periscope and Twitter. Evans will be joined by Olympians Tony Azevedo, Tamika Catchings and Kerri Walsh Jennings.

The announcement will feature a pair of soon-to-be five-time Olympians in Azevedo and Walsh Jennings. Azevedo, who was born in Rio de Janeiro, will be captaining the men’s water polo team and looking for his second medal, while Walsh Jennings will be vying for her fourth straight gold medal in beach volleyball. They will be joined by Catchings, who will be seeking for her own fourth straight Olympic gold medal on the basketball court.

More than 550 athletes will be officially named to Team USA, which will compete in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro from Aug. 5-21.

The Road to Rio fan celebration is free and open to the public, happening this weekend will also feature meet and greets with Team USA athletes, interactive events including the long jump, high jump, high dive and zip line; virtual reality experiences; giveaways and sponsor engagement activation; and live musical performances.
