KT Tape® announces Limited Edition tape celebrating Olympian Meb Keflezighi

A portion of proceeds from the Meb Commemorative Edition KT Tape PRO will go to the MEB Foundation

AMERICAN FORK, Utah – KT Tape®, category leader in kinesiology taping products, unveiled a Limited Edition tape today celebrating the career and achievements of marathon champion Meb Keflezighi as he prepares for his final competitive marathon. The Meb Commemorative Edition KT Tape PRO tape features a unique design and comes in a silver metallic box showcasing Keflezighi, and a portion of the proceeds from the tape will be donated to Keflezighi’s MEB Foundation, which supports youth health, education and fitness programs. The tape will be available in select outlets and online at kttape.com beginning mid-October.

"Meb is an inspiration for us and throughout the running community, and we are proud to celebrate his career with the Meb Commemorative Edition KT Tape PRO tape," said Greg Venner, Chief Executive Officer of KT Tape. "With the donation the commemorative tape gives to the MEB Foundation, we can help support Meb’s ongoing mission to promote healthy lifestyles and sports participation among youth."

The Meb Commemorative Edition KT Tape PRO will be released in a limited quantity of 3,000 rolls. The unique tape design is highlighted by Keflezighi’s signature, reading "Meb," and the silver metallic box features a gold seal and lists Keflezighi’s major accomplishments. Starting mid-October, the tape will be available for sale at select independent running retailers, at the KT Tape booth during sponsored events and online at kttape.com.

With the sale of each box of the Meb Commemorative Edition KT Tape PRO, a donation will be made to the MEB Foundation. Keflezighi started the MEB Foundation in 2010 to provide tools and resources for youth and their families to "Maintain Excellent Balance" in life. The foundation works to promote healthy lifestyles, engage youth in academics, and provide opportunities for children to play and learn positive life skills through involvement in sports.

Earlier this year, Keflezighi announced his retirement from competitive marathons, but not before he would run two more – in Boston and New York. The 2017 TCS New York City Marathon on November 5 will mark Keflezighi’s 26th and final career marathon, and he will be 42 years old at the time he runs – both numbers will honor the marathon’s distance: 26.2 miles or 42.195 kilometers. He won the New York marathon in 2009. Keflezighi also took home the Olympic silver medal in the marathon at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, and he won a memorable Boston Marathon in 2014. He is the only athlete in history to win the New York City Marathon, the Boston Marathon and an Olympic medal.
