Korean Air to Produce Bobsleds
Korean Air will utilize airplane technology in producing bobsleighs.
The airline announced Tuesday it would be producing two- and four-man bobsleds for the Korean National Bobsleigh Team ahead of the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.
Korean Air will be the first airline producer to venture into bobsled production, a field that is dominated by automakers.
Chairman and CEO Cho Yang-ho will lead the project. Cho is a vice president at the Korean Olympic Committee.
"Bobsleds are made of composite materials that are also used for aircrafts. They require aerodynamic technology to minimize air resistance, which is also important for airplanes," a Korean Air official told the Korea Times.
"[Cho] heard Korean bobsleigh national team members use made-in-Netherlands sleds and have difficulty as the sleds are not tailor-made for them. So he decided on the made-in-Korea sled project."

"So in addition to painting, you really know how to speed skate."
