On the 25-28 of March the IWGA President Ron Froehlich and CEO Joachim Gossow visited Wroclaw, Poland to talk about the 10th edition of The World Games, which will be held in 2017. During the visit, beyond the discussions about the agreement between the IWGA and the Host City there was a meeting with the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr Bronislaw Komorowski,Sports and Tourism Minister Ms Joanna Mucha and the President of the Polish Olympic Committee, Mr Andrzej Krasnicki.
All the talks were attended by the Mayor of Wroclaw Rafal Dutkiewicz and his deputies. All agreed that The ames is an excellent opportunity to promote Poland and Wroclaw. It was emphasized that the infrastructure prepared for the UEFA Euro 2012 would be used for the organization of the event..
Ron Froehlich and Joachim Gossow also met with representatives of the municipal TWG team. During the meeting, achievements up to date were summarized, and comments exchanged on current work for the promotion of the event and preparation for Wroclaw's presentation at the SportAccord Conference (21-25.05.2012) in Quebec City.
The multi-sport event showcases 30-plus sports and is the pinnacle of the year for 4,400 athletes (including the invitational sports) from over 90 countries.After Duisburg 2005, The World Games will return to Europe.In 2009 Kaohsiung (Chinese Taipei) was the host of the multi-sport event.In 2013 it will take place in Cali, Colombia, and that is for the first time in a country in South America.

Made up of International Sports Federations, it administers a quadrennial and multidisciplinary sports event, The World Games, which aspires to equal and exceed the importance of world championships organized by each federation individually.
