IOC's 20+20 Agenda at the core of City Events 2015

IOC discusses restructuring the Games at City Events 2015.

More and more cities back out after entering international sporting event bids, because these projects become too risky and too expensive. For example, Boston and Toronto withdrew their candidacy for the 2024 Olympic Games not long before the registration deadline.

Faced with such challenges, the International Olympic Committee, supported by the Sports Federations, decided to restructure the historical model of the Games. IOC’s 20+20 Agenda is the starting point in this development. This ambitious program will be decrypted in detail during the 6th edition of City Events.

The Keynote Panel will discuss the impact of this reform on host territories with past and future Olympic host city representatives.

Then, during a Workshop on Wednesday, November 18th, the IOC and the international federations will be joined at the table by private organizers to discuss the global influence of this ambitious program on private events themselves. This is an unprecedented meeting in the world of sports business.

City Events will be a great opportunity for all stakeholders to discuss, share and debate the questions raised by this Olympic 20+20 Agenda.

Unimev, Union Française des Métiers de l’Evénement in French, is the only professional organization representing all stakeholders of the professional meeting: trade shows, fairs, congress organizers, and management of host location and service providers.

The renewal of this partnership aims to strengthen the relations between the different jobs of the event industry, and to give Unimev members easier access to this international forum.

Unimev will open the plenary conference and invites all the visitors to meet its team at its booth.
