The International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) has continued to demonstrate its commitment to enhancing integrity in sport today by announcing the appointment of one of the world’s leading anti-corruption experts, Dale Sheehan, to its team.
As a former Assistant Commissioner with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and Director at INTERPOL, Sheehan guided the development and implementation of INTERPOL’s prevention, education and training partnership with FIFA to combat match fixing in football, as well as implementing a similar programme with the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Sheehan joins the ICSS Sport Integrity unitas Director of Capacity Building and Education, adding further gravitas and critical support to the organisation’s global anti-corruption efforts in sport.
Sheehan adds to the ICSS a wealth of valuable international anti-corruption experience, including 30 years with the RCMP, and seven years with INTERPOL, where he led INTERPOL’s operational training and development requirements for 190 member countries. In 2014 he also oversaw the move of INTERPOL’s Police Training and Development from France to Singapore.
Speaking of his appointment, Dale Sheehan, Director of Capacity Building and Education for the ICSS, said:
