In a much-awaited press conference yesterday at the Hilton Hotel Innsbruck, Meeting Director Armin

Margreiter presented a top-class starting field for the 10th Int. Golden Roof Challenge which will take

place on 7 June, in Innsbruck.

The extraordinary combined Pole Vault and Long Jump competition, which takes place on the World’s

largest mobile athletics apparatus "The FlySwat", has now reached cult status, not only because of its

large fan base, but also the increasing awareness of the event in athletic circles.

The Pole Vault competition is extremely popular, due to its keenly sought after premium of € 4.000, for

the so-called Nordketten Trophy. Athletes are required to clear a height of 5.83 m, which would also be

a new "FlySwat " record! The narrowest circle of contenders for the trophy consists of the reigning

World Indoor Champion, Konstadinos Filippidis (GRE), the Vice World Champion Lazaro Borges (CUB),

the Russian World Cup finalists Sergey Kucheryanu and Olympic finalist Igor Bychkov (ESP).

The ladies Long Jump will be dominated by the elite duel between No. 2 in the world rankings in 2013

Sostene Moguenara - Taroum (GER ) and the reigning European silver medalist Olga Sudarava ( BLR) .

The men’s Long Jump Competition too has a world-class field, led by reigning European vice-champion

Luis Felipe Meliz (ESP). Also at the start of the world record holder of the leg amputee Markus Rehm

(GER ), whose incredible record stands at 7,35 m !

Also eagerly seeking to improve their own performances Austrian Athletes Marina Kraushofer and Julian

Kellerer will compete in the Long Jump competitions while Innsbruck’s rising star Luke Wirth will

participate in the Pole Vault competitions.
