The 67th IFBB Men's World AmateurBodybuilding Championships and International Congress were held on the 3rd through the 8th of November 2013, at Marrakech, Kingdom of Morocco. Attendance of the Congress, enjoyed the superb organization of the events under the leadership of M.Abdelmajid Demnati, President of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Body Building.
The events in Marrakech followed the successful celebration, a week earlier, of the World Junior and Masters Championships that took place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, with a participation of teams coming from over 60 countries with Mohammed Zakaria of Egypt winning the super heavyweight category and the overall title, and showing Egypt and Iran as the overall team winner.
The IFBB has recently recognized and approved the membership of Mauritania, making the number of 189 affiliated national federations!
The World Men Bodybuilding Championships had an outstanding staging with a worldwide diversity, and a record 22 different countries reaching the finals, after a very disputed semifinal as follows: (the "x" after the country’s name demotes the number of athletes in the finals):

As noted, Iran had the most number of finalists which is a due recognition to the quality of the programs and athletes in that country.
BOLIVARIAN GAMES: joined by eleven Olympic Committees from South and Central America on November 21-25, in Peru, with Bodybuilding and Fitness Categories, as an invitational sport.
ARAB CHAMPIONSHIPS: The coming weekof November 27-29 will see the IFBB’s Arab Championship being held in Fujairah (November 27-29).
2014 CALENDAR: This coming year, the IFBB’s calendar will see as main championships, the Arnold Classic in USA in March, the Asian Beach Games in Phuket, Thailand, the World Fitness Championship in Montreal, the World Men Championships in Brasilia and the World Classic Bodybuilding Championship in Spain (November).
One of the main highlighted issues in the congress was the removal of Women’s Bodybuilding from the World Program and the increase in Fitness and Children events.
WADA CONFERENCE, South Africa. The World Conference on Doping in Sport was recently held in Johannesburg. The IFBB as a code signatory of WADA was represented by Prof. Mauricio de Arruda,IFBB Anti-Doping Commission Chairman,and was present to witness, among other relevant and impactingdecisions, the election of Sir Craig Reedie to the position of President and the adoption of a new revised code in the presence of 1000participating delegates.
