(ATR) The spotlight put on Greek sailing by Olympic champion Sofia Bekatorou’s sexual abuse claims is helping to uncover more cases.
A Greek sailing coach accused of raping an 11-year-old athlete was arrested on Sunday, according to the Athens News Agency. The 38-year-old unidentified man is believed to have committed the offense nine years ago.
Bekatorou had given evidence to prosecutors on this case last week. Unlike her own case, this one is still within the statute of limitations allowed by Greek law.

IOC Resolute for Tokyo Olympics
(ATR) IOC President Thomas Bach is resolute that the postponed Olympics and Paralympics will take place in July and August.
"We are fighting this virus for – and like – Olympic athletes," Bach declared at a virtual press conference following the latest meeting of the IOC Executive Board. The battle of the IOC and Tokyo 2020 to stage the postponed 2020 Games this July and August dominated the hour-long briefing.
"The IOC is fully concentrated on Tokyo," Bach said.

ATR Extra: Teqball Treks Across the USA
(ATR) A series of tournaments in the United States is helping teqball make inroads in an important market.
The sport, a combination of soccer and table tennis played with a soccer ball on a curved table, was invented in 2012. It is played with either two (singles) or four (doubles) players.
The current series of Challenger Cups in the U.S., which began in September, are doubles events. Las Vegas hosted a men’s tournament in November 2020 and a mixed doubles event earlier this month. In between, Los Angeles played host to the first-ever all-women’s Challenger Cup in December.

Asuncion 2022 Awards Infrastructure Projects
(ATR) Camilo Pérez visited the operating room on Tuesday for an old knee injury caused by football.
But the president of the South American Sports Organization (ODESUR) tells Around the Rings that the physical rehabilitation of long weeks will not prevent him from working "every minute" on preparations for the South American Games Asunción 2022.
Asunción 2022, after its date change, is less than 21 months away from its opening.
