The 2nd European Games were at the centre of the media spotlight in the capitals of Austria and France, Vienna and Paris, this week.

In Vienna, the leading sports channel ORF Sport broadcast a presentation of the team that will go to the 2nd European Games, among them the famous table tennis players Stefan Fegerl and Daniel Habesohn, as well as canoe sprinters Viktoria Schwarz and Ana-Roxana Lehaci. More than 50 athletes from Austria will compete at the multi-sport event in Minsk.

After discussing their chances for success, the conversation then turned to Minsk's preparations for the large-scale sporting event and the importance of such an event for the European continent - one of the leaders of the global Olympic Movement.

Aliaksei Bahdanovich, Head of Communications, Public Relations and Media Department at the Minsk European Games Organising Committee (MEGOC), talked to the Austrian television channel about the possibility of visa-free entry into Belarus during the multi-sports event and the venues where competitions will take place. He noted that only the beach soccer arena was built from scratch for the upcoming Games, while the rest of the venues were already built.

The MEGOC representative told a number of interesting facts about the upcoming competitions and the Belarusian capital, the ongoing ticket sales and the most popular sessions among fans, ending with an invitation to the Austrian sports fans to visit the exciting competitions in Minsk.

The talk show was attended by the President of the Austrian Olympic Committee, Karl Stoss, its Secretary General Peter Mennel, as well as Austria's top athletes. As a perk, they all got a sneak peak at the medals of the 2nd European Games.

The guests were shown a promo video about Belarus and were introduced to the mascot of the main sporting event of the year in Europe - Lesik the fox.

The French National Olympic and Sports Committee assisted in a number of activities to promote the forum in Paris in which Anatol Kotau, Deputy Director of MEGOC, took part.
