European Olympic Qualification Tournament Match Schedules Announced - Volleyball

Luxembourg, November 6, 2015 - Fans can start looking forward to an exciting week when the European Olympic Qualification Tournaments take place in January. The men's teams will play in Berlin, Germany, while the women's will be in Ankara, Turkey.The women’s competition at Baskent Volleyball Hall in Turkey’s capital will get underway on January 4 with a match starring 2015 European silver medallists the Netherlands against Germany. IPC Athletics 2016 Grand Prix dates announced

IPC Athletics has announced that the 2016 Grand Prix series will feature 10 different track and field meetings in five continents between February and July, including an event in May that will act as the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games athletics test event. The fourth IPC Athletics Grand Prix season will start in Canberra, Australia, between 5-7 February, and will coincide with the ACT Athletics State Championships. It will be the second time Oceania has held a Grand Prix following a successful meeting in Brisbane, Australia, earlier this year. Between 15-16 March, the Grand Prix circuit will head to Asia and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before a week later (24-26 March) it moves to Tunis, Tunisia, for Africa’s sole event of the year. Europe’s first Grand Prix of 2016 will be held in Grosseto, Italy, between 8-10 April, and two weeks later (22-24 April) Beijing, China, will stage a meeting for the fourth successive year. AISTS Women in Sport scholarship opportunities

Tuesday 3 November 2015, Lausanne, Switzerland - The AISTS (International Academy of Sports Science and Technology) is pleased to confirm two scholarships will be offered for the 2017 edition of the AISTS Master of Sports Administration. Both Athlete and Future Female Leader in Sport scholarships will support two aspiring sports managers to pursue the 14-month postgraduate degree in Lausanne, Switzerland.Each scholarship is valued at 14,000CHF, representing half the programme tuition fee.Returning for the fifth straight year, the AISTS Athlete scholarship aims at encouraging athletes in their post-sport or dual career. To be eligible for the award, athletes must have previously competed, or are currently competing at a professional and international level.

Individuals are invited to submit their application for the AISTS Future Female Leader in Sport scholarship by 1 February 2016, and for the Athlete scholarship by 15 May 2016. The application, and more information, can be found here.

United World Wrestling to Launch New Bidding Process for Events

United World Wrestling, the international federation for Olympic wrestling, is launching its new bidding process in connection with the Smart Cities & Sport Summit in Lausanne, Switzerland.The improved bidding process will open for all United World Wrestling events in 2018, 2019 and 2020.The new procedure will focus on taking a partnership approach with the interested cities. Together, United World Wrestling and bid cities will decide which events are the best fits for the city. USEF Accepting Bids to Host 2017 and 2018 U.S. Junior Hunter National Championships

Lexington, Ky. - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is now accepting bids to host the 2017 and 2018 U.S. Junior Hunter National Championships. 2017 ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championship Bids Invited

The International Sailing Federation is now inviting all Member National Authorities to bid for the 2017 ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championship.The ISAF Women's Match Racing Worlds has been held every year since 1999 with the most recent event in 2015 being hosted in Middelfart, Denmark this July. Sixteen of the top women's match racers are taking part, including the top 9 ranked sailors.Bids must be received by the ISAF Secretariat and must include confirmation of support for the bid from the relevant Member National Authority. Bids will be reviewed by ISAF and a decision announced in November 2015.

International Fencing Federation Opens Bidding for Next Olympic Cycle

A call for biddings has been launched on the 22nd of June for the following championships:

- JC world championships 2017

- JC world championships 2018

- Senior world championships 2018

It's a busy time at the International Fencing Federation, where, at the eve of the World Fencing Championships, two calls for bidding are being launched. The first concerns the official competition calendar of the new Olympic cycle after Rio (2016-2020)...NF have one month time to send their applications (till the 31st of July). After the screening of the applications received, the final proposal will be debated by the FIE Executive Committee in September. Clickherefor more information.

2017 Women's Rugby World Championships

Just months after a record-breaking Women’s Rugby World Cup in France, the tender process has now opened to host the event in 2017.

The tournament, which was won by England after a thrilling final in Paris last August, will move to 2017 to maximise synergy with the Olympic and Rugby World Cup Sevens cycles, allowing the world’s best female players to compete on rugby’s biggest stages. The event will return to a four-year cycle after 2017.

The tender process was ratified by World Rugby Council at its meeting in London last week.
