AISTS SPORTS Event Management & Organisation Seminar
The AISTS SEMOS (Sports Event Management & Organisation Seminar) offers an overview of the key tasks that sports managers need to successfully plan, communicate and operate when organising sports events. The AISTS SEMOS brings together leaders of International Sports Federations and other experts of the AISTS network, including the International Olympic Committee, to create a seminar that is both pertinent and practical, and recognises the increased expectations of spectators, athletes, media and sponsors at major events.

2014 Scientific Research Grants
WADA has now issued its call for proposals for 2014 scientific research grants.
WADA is committed to increasing the volume of research dedicated to developing new and improved detection methods for performance-enhancing substances and methods. Since 2001, the Agency has committed more than US$56 million to scientific research.
Scientists interested in submitting research projects are invited to submit their applications by February 16, 2014.
2013 Sportswoman of the Year
The on-line public nomination process is now open for the prestigious annual Awards, with the ultimate accolade, The Sunday Times and Sky Sports Sportswoman of the Year, won last year by Jessica Ennis, up for grabs.
The Awards celebrate the outstanding contribution to sport made by elite performers, coaches, administrators, community volunteers and inspirational female figures. 2013 promises to be the most spectacular in the event’s 26-year history as on the evening of Thursday December 5, for the first time, the Awards will be broadcast live by Sky.
2014 IPC Athletes' Council
Only athletes competing at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games or who have competed in either of the two previous Paralympic Winter Games are eligible to be nominated. Only one athlete per National Paralympic Committee (NPC) is allowed to be on the Council at the same time, and NPCs can nominate only one candidate for election.
The nomination process will remain open until the end of 3 December. A complete list of candidates will be published two months prior to the Opening Ceremony of the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games, and voting will take place at the Games.

ITU 2014 World Triathlon Series
The International Triathlon Union (ITU) has opened bidding for the 2014 World Triathlon Series to all National Federations and cities interested in hosting one of the eight flagship events.
The elected cities will join Hamburg, London, Yokohama and Auckland as confirmed hosts of the popular race series. Edmonton, Canada will also host the 2014 ITU Triathlon World Championship Grand Final.
ITU 2015 World Triathlon Championships
The International Triathlon Union (ITU) has opened bidding for the World Triathlon Championships 2015 to all National Federations and cities interested in hosting the final race of the 2015 World Triathlon Series.
"ITU is committed to hosting top level events in iconic cities," ITU President and IOC Member Marisol Casado said. "As our sport continues to rise in popularity, we believe hosting the ITU World Triathlon Championships offers cities the possibility to showcase their city to a global audience."
In 2009, the championships were revamped, expanding the former single-day World Championship race into an exciting multi-city global series, during which athletes vie for prize money totaling more than $2 million USD. The series culminates with the ITU World Triathlon Championships, which will continue to be called the World Triathlon Grand Final through 2013.

The Russian International Olympic University is now receiving applications for the second intake of the Master of Sport Administration (MSA) course, running from September 2014 to June 2015.
Paralympic Sport Club Development Program
U.S. Paralympics, a division of the United States Olympic Committee, today launched the Paralympic Sport Club Development Program, a new initiative designed to support grassroots organizations that are committed to providing sustainable Paralympic sports programming that strengthens the athlete pipeline to the U.S. Paralympic Team. Paralympic Sport Clubs that participate in the three-level program will receive recognition and awards designed to help organizations honor achievements and further pursue excellence within the Paralympic Movement.

It will travel across the globe through the 70 nations and territories of the Commonwealth carrying a special message from Her Majesty the Queen, but the final lap of the Queen’s Baton Relay will be its last 40 days travelling the length and breadth of Scotland.
From today until 22 November anyone can nominate their own local champions to be batonbearers. To be a batonbearer, people are required to:
• Be 12 years old or older at the date of nomination
• Have made a positive contribution to the lives of others through community sport
• Undertaken voluntary work or contributed to schools or youth organisations
• Contributed towards greater inclusion for disadvantaged or marginalised sectors of the community
• Been a role model or mentor to youth through sport
• Displayed a level of individual achievement against the odds
• Made a significant contribution to their local community
2015 Ski World Championships
The process of recruiting volunteers for Vail and Beaver Creek’s 2015 World Championships will officially kickoff this Thursday, Sept. 12, from 5-7 p.m. MT at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, with the first 215 people in the gate receiving a special 2015 commemorative gift. Prize raffles will also be conducted throughout the evening.

ISA Individual Scholarship Program
The ISA is proud to continue to award academic surf scholarships to Under-18 junior surfers from all over the globe. The ISA Individual Scholarship Program was established in 2007, and in its six year history has awarded 172 individual scholarships and a total of $128,500. This year, the ISA will award 50 individual $1,000 scholarships, a total of $50,000.

The appointed agency will also have a broad range of responsibilities to develop and manage the WOA’s online content such as a new Online Olympic Reunion Center, the President’s Blog and the WOA Twitter and Facebook presence. Turkmenistan
The State Committee for Sport has announced an international tender for the design and construction of new sports facilities in Ashgabat and other velayats (regions). It is planned to construct a new sports school specialising in chess and checkers in the Turkmen capital. One of the most important facilities to be built in Ashgabat is the Olympic Training Centre that will include sports training bases and a scientific and research laboratory.
ICC Cricket World Cup 2015
The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified companies for the provision of media buying services.
EOI submissions will be evaluated against specific criteria with respondents who qualify then invited to prepare detailed proposals as part of a tender process. Ultimately, the successful company will work closely with the LOC which has offices in Melbourne, Australia and Wellington, New Zealand. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will be played in venues across both countries in February and March 2015.
