WADA

WADA has now issued its call for proposals for 2013 scientific research grants.

WADA is committed to increasing the volume of research dedicated to developing new and improved detection methods for performance-enhancing substances and methods. Since 2001, the Agency has committed more than US$54 million to scientific research.

Scientists interested in submitting research projects are invited to submit their applications by February 17, 2013.

IPC

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has extended the nomination period until 11 February for the highly prestigious IPC Scientific Award, which will be presented at May's VISTA Conference in Bonn, Germany.

The award is given in recognition of one academic researcher for his or her contribution to research in the field of sports for people with an impairment.

To be eligible for this award, candidates must have made contributions thorough significant scientific publications related to the scientific study of sport for people with impairment in any discipline, have received national or international recognition for their work and placed an emphasis on practical application of research with direct or indirect benefit to the Paralympic Movement.

IPC members and IPC Governing Board members, Sport Technical Committees and IPC Standing Committees and Councils can all submit nominations.

SportAccord Spirit of Sports Awards

Glasgow 2014

The search for up to 15,000 volunteers for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games will start on Monday, 14 January 2013 when applications open.

From 0700 on Monday, people have the opportunity to become a part of history with Glasgow 2014 needing the biggest peace-time deployment of volunteers for a common cause Scotland has ever seen.

Applicants have just under seven weeks to go to www.glasgow2014/volunteer and complete their online form with a final closing date of Thursday, 28 February.

Sochi 2014

There is exactly one month left until applications close for those wishing to volunteer at the 2014 Games in Sochi. At the start of December, the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee announced the closing date for registration - March 1, 2013. At the same time, a countdown clock appeared on the website http://vol.sochi2014.com/en/, showing how much time remained until the end of the volunteer recruitment process. Anyone wishing to apply still has time to fill in an application form on the website, and write his name into Olympic history by becoming a volunteer at the first ever Olympic Winter Games in our country's history.

Toronto 2015 IGNITE Program

The IGNITE program is a community partnership enabling individuals, organizations and communities to be associated with the Games, and hopes to encompass the projects and events that are inspired by the Games coming to the region.

From Niagara Falls to Oshawa to Caledon, IGNITE offers communities the opportunity to leverage the Games to increase awareness for their projects. IGNITE also aspires to create initiatives that will continue to flourish post-Games.

FIBA

FIBA issued an invitation to submit proposals aimed at appointing a worldwide licensing representative responsible for developing its licensing program and those of its major upcoming competitions. The purpose of the licensing program is to promote the competitions in the host countries and around the world. Competitions belonging to the program include the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women, and may also extend to eight of the 2013 FIBA Continental Zone Championships: the FIBA Africa Championships (Men & Women), the FIBA Americas Championships (Men & Women), the FIBA Asia Championships (Men & Women) and the FIBA Oceania Championships (Men & Women) (FIBA).

ICC Cricket World Cup 2015

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified companies for the provision of media buying services.

EOI submissions will be evaluated against specific criteria with respondents who qualify then invited to prepare detailed proposals as part of a tender process. Ultimately, the successful company will work closely with the LOC which has offices in Melbourne, Australia and Wellington, New Zealand. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will be played in venues across both countries in February and March 2015.

UIPM Production Tender

UIPM, the world’s governing body for Modern Pentathlon, is looking for a TV production company to produce its TV highlights show and internet TV productions.
