(ATR) The new president of the Women’s Sports Foundation is known for delivering hard hits.
As a four-time Olympic medalist and four-time world champion in ice hockey, Angela Ruggiero spent half her life on Team USA – and in professional leagues female and male – before hanging up her skates about a year ago.
Now an MBA candidate at Harvard Business School, her future looks even brighter than her past.
She was elected to an eight-year term on the IOC Athletes’ Commission during Vancouver 2010 and has since served on the Evaluation and Coordination Commissions for PyeongChang 2018.
She also heads the Coordination Commission for the Lillehammer 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games and was active as an Athlete Role Model at the inaugural Innsbruck Winter YOG.
Ruggiero, 33, sits on the boards of the World Anti-Doping Agency Foundation and the United States Olympic Committee.
In her spare time, she also runs hockey camps and tournaments for girls, serves as a Right to Play Athlete Ambassador and works as a TV personality, most notably on season six of NBC’s "The Apprentice".
