(ATR) One year to go for the Sochi Olympics and the heat is on for the government and organizing committee to deliver great Winter Games. Two Dmitrys – Deputy Prime Minister Kozak and Sochi 2014 CEO Chernyshenko – are at the center of the final year of preparation.

Dmitry Kozak
Kozak is President Vladimir Putin’s point person for the Sochi Olympics, charged with making sure preparations are complete. For him, the job ahead is the completion of the Olympic Park on the Black Sea Coast and infrastructure projects such as the rail line to the mountain venues and upgrades to the Sochi airport.

Dmitry Chernyshenko
Chernyshenko, who has led Sochi 2014 from its days as a bid city, is handling the organization of the Games. In 2013 that will mean the migration of hundreds of staff members from Moscow to Sochi to execute the Games, as well as the training and deployment of thousands of volunteers.
Away from Sochi, Chernyshenko will oversee the longest torch relay in the annals of the Games. The four-month trek begins in Moscow in early October.
