The "Global Recruitment of Young Filmmakers for Beijing 2022 Official Film" hold by the Media and Communications Department of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics Organizing Committee was officially launched on September 21, 2020!
Since the 1912 Stockholm Olympics, making official films has become the tradition of the Olympics. More than 40 official films carry the Olympic spirit, record moving stories inside and outside the Olympic venues, leave precious video records for the century-old Olympic Games, and are faithful witnesses to the development of culture and film. In 2008, Chinese filmmakers produced the official Olympic film for the first time, having written a new chapter in the Olympic history and Chinese film history.
In order to carry forward the tradition and to promote Olympism, Beijing 2022 launched Global Recruitment of Young Filmmakers for Beijing 2022 Official Film, inviting creative and enthusiastic young filmmakers from all over the world to join the film crew.
Whether you are a young director, a young cinematographer, or a young editor, as long as you love the Olympic movement and care about and support the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, you will have the opportunity to join the official film crew of the Beijing 2022 and to record the history of the Olympic Movement together!
Global Recruitment of Young Filmmakers for Beijing 2022 Official Film was officially announced globally on September 21, 2020. The deadline for submission is December 21, 2020. The official film chief director and the advisory board will review the short video submitted by the young people, select 18 winners, and invite them to join the film crew.

An original short film with a running time of less than 30 minutes which has not been screened in public or released in theatre/online.

Entries in Chinese need to be embedded with Chinese subtitles, and entries in other languages need to be embedded with subtitles in English or Chinese, preferably both Chinese and English subtitles.

The First Prize : 3 winners, 1 for Directing / Cinematography / Editing, ¥30,000 (including tax), licensed products for Beijing 2022 Games, certificate of honour.
The Second Prize: 6 winners, 2 for Directing / Cinematography / Editing: ¥20,000 (including tax), licensed products for Beijing 2022 Games, certificate of honour.
The Third Prize: 9 winners, 3 for Directing / Cinematography / Editing: ¥10,000 (including tax), licensed products for Beijing 2022 Games, certificate of honour.
There will also be 15 Honourable Mention Award winners to be awarded with Beijing 2022 Games tickets, licensed products and certificates of honour.
The First, Second, Third-prize winners will have the opportunity of joining the crew of the Beijing 2022 Official Film to assist the chief director in filmmaking.
