#TagForPeace campaign raises awareness of communities facing conflict and violence around the world

Generations For Peace Delegates and Pioneers marked the International Day of Peace today by adopting #TagForPeace across their social media platforms to raise awareness about this important date.

The Generations For Peace #TagForPeace digital campaign‎ enables volunteers, media, friends and family to post messages of peace using the hashtag to develop a trend that will engage thousands of others on this iconic day.

Volunteers in Georgia, Jordan, Lebanon, Somalia and Palestine are creating videos and donating their social reach to the #TagForPeace campaign. The largely successful endeavour - and the resulting social reach of 232,537 to date - has already amplified the campaign’s message across several social media platforms.

HRH Prince Feisal Al-Hussein, Founder and Chairman of Generations For Peace, said: "The hard work our Delegates, Pioneers and young volunteers contribute all year round is inspirational. Their online social media campaign to mark this International Day of Peace is just one of many displays of their true passion and commitment to promote active tolerance and responsible citizenship in communities experiencing different forms of conflict and violence around the world."

Generations For Peace Delegates and Pioneers are passionate about strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. After posting a video, Tornike Chargeishvilli, a Generations For Peace Pioneer from Georgia, said: "Today is a reminder of the idea of living in harmony free from fear of closed social doors, emergency calls, news broadcasts, mistrust and direct violence. It is also a reminder of humanity’s many mistakes, for which we have paid a high price. But hope can be found, and the #TagForPeace campaign emphasises our crucial role in fostering positive social change. It says that peace starts within each one of us."

Generations For Peace joins millions of other people around the world taking part in activities, events, concerts and festivals to celebrate the International Day of Peace, and thereby promotes peace as a fundamental human right for all.
