
Le projet olympique de Calgary pour les Jeux d’hiver 2026 a pris l’eau avant même le jour du vote, mais le Canada ne renonce pas. A Vancouver, ville-hôte des Jeux en 2010, la question d’une nouvelle candidature olympique doit être débattue cette semaine. Elle figure en bonne place sur l’ordre du jour de la réunion du conseil municipal, prévue mercredi 4 novembre. Avec cette mention : faisabilité d’une candidature aux Jeux d’hiver en 2030.
Le projet n’est pas nouveau. Il est porté depuis le début de l’année par une élue au conseil municipal, Melissa De Genova. Sa motion devait initialement être discutée au printemps dernier, au mois de mars, puis encore en avril, mais la crise sanitaire l’a repoussée de six mois.
