Avancée réelle ou simple effet d’annonce ? A l’heure où les manifestations contre le racisme se multiplient un peu partout dans le monde, le CIO annonce vouloir suivre le mouvement. Mais la route semble encore longue avant de voir des athlètes mettre un genou à terre sur un site ou un podium olympique.

Thomas Bach, le président de l’instance internationale, l’a annoncé mercredi 10 juin au terme de la réunion par visioconférence de la commission exécutive : la discussion a été ouverte sur un possible assouplissement de la règle 50 de la Charte olympique. Elle interdit toute forme de « manifestation ou de propagande politique, religieuse ou raciale » pendant les Jeux.
