The United Transport and Forwarding Company (OTEKO), through its subsidiary CJSC Tamanneftegaz, has signed a four-year partnership with the International University Sports Federation (FISU), boosting FISU’s commercial portfolio in a year that will see the federation host more World University Championships than ever before.

FISU President Oleg Matytsin and Secretary General and CEO Eric Saintrond signed the agreement with the General Director of CJSC Tamanneftegaz Irina Trifonova in Lausanne.

OTEKO is the biggest private investor in the port infrastructure of Southern Russia and CJSC Tamanneftegaz operates the main transshipment complex in the region, in Taman, from where oil, oil products and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) are shipped.

In 2016, FISU is staging 34 World University Championships across five continents, the first of which, in ski orienteering, was held from 10-16 February in Tula, Russia.

FISU President Oleg Matytsin said:

"Our vision at FISU is to create a world where every leader in society has been positively influenced by University sport. To do this we need passion and creativity as well as strong partnerships. This deal represents a very strong partnership. We are delighted with it and we welcome this addition to the FISU family."

General Director of OTEKO Sergey Gubinets said:

"We are pleased to become a partner of FISU. The number of events FISU owns makes it a powerful sports brand and it also has the wider ambition of spreading the University spirit, which we really support. Our four-year deal will cover the period of four Universiades in important territories for us, such as Asia and CIS countries."
