The International Ski Federation (www.fis-ski.com) is putting the entire logistics of the Federation into the hands of Conceptum Sport Logistics (CSL – www.conceptum-sport-logistics.com). Collaboration with the Frankfurt-based logistics company is scheduled for the following years and received the official stamp of approval when the contract was signed at the International Federation (IF) Forum on 5 November in Lausanne. The logistic requirements of the International Ski Federation cover all Alpine, Nordic, Snowboard, Ski Jumping and Freestyle Skiing World Cups for team travel assistance services alongside transport of sports equipment, team equipment and other cargo.

The contract also includes a recommendation to more than 150 National Ski Associations to use CSL for their logistics. FIS has been working with the CSL team through FIS Travel, since the beginning of this year. "Being appointed logistics partner for all categories is acknowledgement of our work over the years. For us, the logistics chain does not stop at the airport, but at the slopes." says head of logistics, Sebastian Stahl. With subsidiaries around the world, the company is known as a specialist for transportation of sports and team equipment to competition sites globally for winter sports and numerous other disciplines.

Cooperation between FIS and CSL will also include the logistics for the upcoming Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. Next year is one not to miss – the eyes of the world will be on the athletes. The logistics team has already been preparing for the major event for more than 2 years, with test transports and much more: "Anyone who follows such major events on the television can hardly imagine the effort that goes on in advance behind the scenes. And – just like sport – you need a bit of training to make sure the performance goes well!", says Stahl.
