First Vice-President of the UANOC Affirms Commitment to Stand by the Second Arab Women's Club Games

First vice-president of the Union of the Arab National Olympic Committees (UANOC) Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa yesterday (JUNE 30) affirmed the union’s role to stand by the organizing committee of the Second Arab Women's Club Games, to be held in Sharjah next year.

This came during the second preparatory session with representatives of the organizing committee of the Games at the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) premises in Seef District.

This session was held in the presence of BOC acting general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, women’s committee chairwoman at the UANOC Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, UANOC assistant general secretary Saad Al Sufyani and organising committee members, headed by Nada Al Naqabi, and UAE Youth and Sports Affairs Director Khalid Al Hussain.

Also during the meeting, Shaikh Isa was briefed on latest steps undertaken by the organizing committee in preparation to host the Second Arab Women's Club Games, which has been scheduled to take place from February 1 to 14 next year.

The Games organizing committee also revealed the venues of the Games competitions as well as other procedures to be finalized.

Nada Al Naqabi said that the organizing committee, headed by Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Qasmi, will start sending invitation to all Arab countries next month to attend the opening ceremony of the Games.

On her part, Shaikha Hayat expressed pride for Shaikh Isa attending the second session, stressing the significant role of Sharjah Ladies Club Shaikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi to this event and her keenness to achieve excellence by personally following up all organizational issues.

Shaikha Hayat also expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain eagerness to stand by the Games organising committee and offer all that is needed to ensure its succession in all areas.

The delegation also consists of UANOC Secretariat General member Nayef Al Salem, and from the Organizing Committee Nada Askar Al Naqbi, Khaled Al Hussein, Nora Al Shamsi, Reem Kareem, Nawal Al Shibani, in addition to representative of the Technical Secretariat of Arab Youth and Sports Arab Ministers Council Ali Omar.
