First Lady Michelle Obama, Dr. Biden, and Prince Harry to Support Joining Forcesand 2016 Invictus Games

In celebration of the upcoming Invictus Games, the First Lady and Dr. Biden will join Prince Harry at Fort Belvoir.

During the visit to Fort Belvoir, the First Lady, Dr. Biden, and Prince Harry will meet with wounded Servicemen and women in recovery and rehabilitation programs. They will tour the USO Warrior and Family Center, a state-of-the art facilitywhich was specifically designed to support wounded, injured, or ill servicemembers, military families, and caregivers. Lastly, after delivering brief remarks, they will watch a short adaptive sports event, similar to one that will be featured in the Invictus Games. The visit will highlight the innovative programming designed to support the mental health and wellbeing of service members, veterans, and their families.

The Invictus Games is the international adaptive sporting event for wounded, injured and ill Servicemen and women, both serving and veteran. As part of the Joining Forces initiative, to the inaugural Invictus Games, held in London in September of 2014, which saw over 400 competitors from 13 nations compete in nine sports.

The Invictus Games Orlando 2016 will take place in May at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.
