(ATR) The FINA World Aquatics Convention heads to Windsor, Ontario, Canada on Dec. 3 where organizers expect more than 1,000 delegates and a speaker list of 80 experts in the Olympic Movement.

"The FINA World Aquatics Convention provides a unique opportunity for all those involved in Aquatics to gain invaluable insight into our industry, raise their profile within it and discover new opportunities for international partnerships," FINA President Dr. Julio Maglione states.

"We are very excited to bring the Convention to Canada and North America, a destination that offers access to a marketplace brimming with potential as well as the chance to form new relationships."

Under the theme "Building a Brighter Future" the conference will address major issues facing Aquatics, the latest trends, and key opportunities for the sport’s global expansion.

As part of the convention the World Sports Medicine Congress (Dec. 3-4) and the Swimming Coaches Golden Clinic (Dec. 4-5) will also be taking place. The quadrennial Sports Medicine Congress is meeting this year to review the latest in aquatic science and health under the theme "Swimming For Gold, Swimming For Life".

The Coaches Golden Clinic, also taking place over two days hopes to bring the coaching community together for networking, discussion and to hear from some of the biggest names in coaching.

Counsilman-Hunsaker will once again act as an Official Partner of the event.

FINA says that Counsilman-Hunsaker is a global leader in aquatics design, best known for its work on the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Aquatic Center and the 2015 Pan American Games Aquatics Center in Toronto.

"The Aquatics family will have the opportunity to learn from the Counsilman-Hunsaker team as they share valuable knowledge on sustainable aquatic facilities and provide insight that will assist our National Federations," said FINA president Julio Maglione.

Counsilman-Hunsaker has now sponsored the event at each of the four editions.

The swimwear company TritonWear was also recently announced as an official sponsor of the convention. TritonWear has helped coaches improve their swimmers' performances by tracking progress through the company's wearable data recording technology. The technology uses motion sensors to track stroke count, breathing patterns and more and syncs the information directly to an electronic device in real-time, ultimately allowing coaches to analyze swimmers more effectively.

The CEO of the company, Tristan Lehari, will be leading a panel titled "Advancing Swimming Through Big Data" during the FINA Swimming Coaches Golden Clinic.

"TritonWear is committed to improving our sport and believes the Convention is an excellent venue for the FINA community and its stakeholders to collaborate with leaders from around the globe," Lehari said in a statement.

The convention will take place from Dec. 3-5 at the Caesars Windsor Resort and Convention Center.
