Successful opening ceremony for the Doha Khalifa International Stadium held on the occasion of the Emir Cup final. Filmmaster Events, internationally renowned company in the sector of organization and production of major international, corporate and sport events, has designed the inaugural ceremony. The same company produced the opening and closing ceremonies of Rio 2016 Olympics and Paralympics.

A 15-minute show designed to inaugurate the Khalifa Stadium as the first venue completed to host the matches of the football World Club 2022 to be held in Qatar.

The impressing extraordinary show captured the essence of the country through sport bringing a glorious past back to life and projecting the audience into the most eagerly awaited event in Qatar, the World Cup 2022.

The opening was organized into three different parts, described by a horizontal projection made on the whole pitch, from goal to goal. Several contents in a chronological sequence, from the past to the future, described the story of the stadium that hosted the country’s major sport events, such as the Gulf Cup, the Asian Games to become an actual symbol; then, the description of the venue that goes down in history of Qatar football through the deeds of the most famous and influential players up to the union of the two worlds waiting for the next Football World Cup. From an adjacent stage, a philharmonic orchestra provided the music background that offered original atmospheres for the stories described.

Of course, the event could not be complete without special scenic effects. The whole audience supported the official part of the ceremony as the Emir cut the ribbon: all the spectators had been provided with the same ribbons, and simultaneously repeated the same movement, performing a big collective ritual. Fireworks ended this official part of the event with the writing 2022.

A memorable ceremony that reaffirms once more Filmmaster Events as top player in the ability of producing bespoke storytelling able to arouse emotions and to offer the audience an engaging experience of beauty.
