FIFA Secretary General Will Address Soccerex -- Conferences and Conventions

(ATR) FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura will be speaking at the inaugural Soccerex China. She will be addressing delegates at the opening of the event scheduled for April 17-18 in the city of Zhuhai.

Samoura already participated in the Soccerex 2016 edition in Manchester where among other things, she presented the inaugural FIFA Diversity awards which were hosted at the event.

Other world-class organizations present at the next Soccerex include LaLiga, NFL, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

Chinese Super League clubs and elite Chinese sports companies such as Wanda Sports and Desports have also confirmed their participation at Soccerex, focused this year in support of the growth of China’s football industry and China’s national football reform plan.

The SportAccord Convention

The annual gathering of International Federations and leaders in the global sport movement at the SportAccord Convention is around the corner.

The gathering is scheduled from April 15-20 in Bangkok, Thailand, featuring more than 90 IFs, 135 cities or regions and more than 350 delegates representing those locations.

It will be the 16th edition of the event and will feature the inaugural HealthAccord conference alongside the usual CityAccord, MediaAccord and LawAccord conferences that supplement the program.

2018 Humanitarian Award

The Foundation for Global Sports Development will have a reception and ceremony for the gymnasts who are survivors of abuse and have become leaders and heroes in sport.

The Humanitarian Award recognizes individuals and organizations that have stepped up as leaders and champions for social, economic, political or environmental justice and equality.

The Red Carpet event is on April 28 at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills in Los Angeles.

The SPOT

The SPOT is scheduled to take place on May 15-16 at the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne.

The event aims to stimulate progress in sport by bringing together original ideas and the latest innovations from both inside and outside the sports industry.

The inaugural edition will feature a mix of presentations on topics that include smart venues, connected sports equipment and machine learning in sport, cyber technology, digital security, bionics and nutrigenomics, and future trends in esports.

Dr. Andrew Walshe, a high performance consultant at Logitech, will deliver the opening keynote address and explain how data and deep insights into behavior can be used to shape innovation in sport. Professor Muhammad Yunus, a Nobel Peace Prize winner from Bangladesh, will kick off the second day of The SPOT with a discussion on the conjunction of social entrepreneurship and sport.

International Sports Convention Returns

The International Sports Convention returns to Geneva, Switzerland once again in December 2018.

The 2018 edition of the convention will integrate both the Sports Broadcast Conference 2018 and the Sports Digital Conference, allowing attendees more opportunities for networking, learning and business development.

ISC 2018 will focus on three main pillars according to organizers: the business of sport, the development of sport and sustainable development goals in sport.

The convention includes 18 sports conferences along with a 6,000 square meter exhibition hall. Attendees will be able to meet federations, leagues, clubs and global sports industry suppliers during the two-day convention.

Organizers expect more than 2,000 delegates to attend the conference that will feature 150 speakers.

ISC 2018 is scheduled for Dec. 5-6.
