Representatives from international sports federations and European national Olympic committees are gearing up for a busy week ahead.

The second IF Forum opens Monday. Around 200 representatives from international federations are gathering at the Movenpick Hotel, Lausanne, Switzerland for the forum focusing on the themes of leadership and media.

The keynote addresses will be given Monday evening. On Tuesday, delegates will hear case studies and have the opportunity to participate in workshops. The forum wraps up Wednesday at lunchtime.

The event is organized by the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), the Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations (AIOWF) and General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) in conjunction with SportAccord and the City of Lausanne.

On Nov. 21, representatives will gather for the 37th European Olympic Committees (EOC) general assembly in Istanbul, Turkey. It lasts through Nov. 22.

The meeting at the Hilton Istanbul coincides with the 100th anniversary of Turkey's NOC and will be attended by representatives of 48 European NOCs. Montenegro will not be represented as the NOC is holding its elections this week. The tiny Balkan nation became the 204th NOC following approval by the IOC last year.

A welcome dinner hosted by the Turkish NOC is to be held at the Ciragan Palace Hotel Kempinski Thursday evening.

EOC President Patrick Hickey, IOC member from Ireland, and the association's secretary general Raffaele Pagnozzi will report to delegates.

Among others reporting are the organizers of the Beijing Olympics, VANOC, LOCOG and Sochi 2014. An update on the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games is also scheduled. And there will be plenty of interest in the presentations of the four bid cities in the race for the 2016 Olympics: Chicago, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.

The general assembly concludes Saturday with the elections of summer and winter host cities for the 2013 European Youth Olympic Festivals.
