(ATR) An extensive lineup of sport governance figures, anti-doping leaders, journalists and scholars headline the 2017 Play the Game conference.

The four-day conference will take place from Nov. 26-30 in Eindhoven, Netherlands and features more than 150 speakers. Van der Valk Hotel Eindhoven will host the event.

Conversations and discussions will range from the troubled Rio 2016 Olympic legacy, the emergence of esport, anti-doping reforms and good governance in sport.

Fair play and ethics will be at the center of all discussions, particularly among the talks with featured speakers Fabiana Schneider from Brazil and Jean-Yves Lourgouilloux from France, the prosecutors investigating a network of allegedly corrupt sport leaders and Olympic vote-buying scandals. Their work led to the arrest of Rio 2016 president Carlos Nuzman.

Other prominent figures at Play the Game 2017 include WADA president Craig Reedie, IOC member Richard Pound, ASOIF president Francisco Ricci Bitti, USADA chief executive officer Travis Tygart and iNADO chief executive Joseph de Pencier.

Prominent sport journalists and Olympic academics such as Hajo Seppelt and Jules Boykoff will also lead discussions at the conference.

More than 40 discussion sessions planned for the four-day event. Around the Rings will be on the scene for the conference.

Olympic Legacy the Focus of Dream Together Forum

The 2017 edition of the annual Dream Together Seoul Forum will focus on the ways in which PyeongChang 2018 can develop a strong Olympic legacy.

The theme of the event, "Olympic Legacy and Sustainability: From the past to the future", will explore positive examples of Olympic legacy in the past and discuss how similar principles can be utilized in South Korea for next February’s Winter Olympics.

The Dream Together Forum is supported by Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation to promote global sport development. The forum began in 2013 and is a platform where IOC members, NOC leaders and scholars speak about critical issues on the sports agenda.

The 2017 edition will seek to promote the PyeongChang 2018 Games and facilitate the development of the Olympic legacy. Organizers of the forum argue that Olympic legacy is often misunderstood and the forum will analyze examples of successful legacies such as London 2012 and Vancouver 2010.

IOC Executive Board member Ser Miang, Vancouver 2010 chairman John Furlong, PyeongChang 2018 vice president Johoo Kim, Tokyo 2020 public relations secretary Hiromi Kawamura and IOC head of legacy Tania Braga are some of the featured speakers of this year’s forum.

The InterContinental Seoul COEX Hotel will host the event that takes place on Nov. 24. It is organized by the Seoul National University.

Host City Contracts Focus of Joint LawAccord, CityAccord Workshop

The 2018 SportAccord Convention will feature an inaugural workshop combining LawAccord and CityAccord.

The joint gathering will analyze the process and structure of Host City Agreements for major events such as the Olympics, FIFA World Cup and continental multi-sport games.

Delegates from International Federations, legal teams, experts and other sports stakeholders will discuss the risks and business implications of global sporting events, according to organizers. The workshop will be co-hosted by Steven Townley of LawAccord and David Simon of CityAccord on April 18, 2018.

"This workshop collaboration is a first at SportAccord Convention and enables international sports federations and cities to work through Host City Agreements from every angle," the hosts said in a statement. "Delegates will be able to examine the issues and challenges everyone is facing - including stakeholders – and in turn provide a sound basis for lawyers to meet client expectations too.

"Getting the hosting agreement right from the outset also means both international sports federations and cities are in a much better position to mitigate risks and disputes, and ultimately deliver a successful event."

Topics of the workshop will include conflict areas, frequent disputes, risk responsibility, anti-corruption, mitigation against litigation risks as well as the role of insurance.

SportAccord Convention 2018 will take place in Bangkok, Thailand from April 15-20.
