Just days after announcing its entry into the US market, ELEVEN SPORTS has today confirmed that it will show LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage of the Emirates Airline Twenty20 (T20) cricket tournament, a deal negotiated by ELEVEN SPORTS and RDA, making the competition available to 50 million households across the country.

The addition of T20 cricket, with its fast-paced, energetic style underlines ELEVEN’s commitment to bring on board new and exciting niche sports that are tailored towards millennial fans across the US.

The highly-anticipated tournament will feature six international teams playing across two days on 23rd and 24th March. For the first time, the tournament will be hosted at the Dubai Sports City ICC Academy.

Some of the biggest stars in cricket are expected to play the tournament including England internationals Ben Stokes, Mark Wood, Ben Duckett, Liam Plunkett and Ian Bell.

The participating teams include Lancashire Lightning, Birmingham Bears and the Durham Jets from England’s T20 Blast, Peshawar Zalmi Foundation and Lahore Qalandars from the Pakistan Super League, and the MCC Emerging England XI.

"We are very pleased to add the Emirates Airline T20 cricket tournament to our rights portfolio in the US," says Danny Menken, Group Managing Director, ELEVEN SPORTS. "Our aim is to offer a new generation of fans LIVE and EXCLUSIVE access to emerging and exciting sports action that is not available through other networks. Today’s announcement brings this strategy to life and we are looking forward to confirming more top sports rights very soon."

ELEVEN SPORTS in the US will be the destination where emerging and established sports meet compelling LIVE action and engagement tailored towards the millennial generation. Through its ‘For the Fans’ strategy, the network will also build on its long-term commitment to create a community around niche sports that brings the fans into the conversation through an engaging, fan-friendly approach.

ELEVEN will continue to build a strong portfolio of rights from traditional, millennial and lifestyle focused sports content including cycling, football, basketball, ice hockey, soccer, rugby, lacrosse, cricket, drone racing and more. Further announcements regarding these rights will be made in the near future.
