The network has strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointment of Middleditch, who begins his role on 5 February and brings with him a wealth of digital sports industry experience, having spent the last 10 years working for Sky Sports.

Middleditch most recently held the position of Head of Video, responsible for all video content across Sky Sports’ digital platforms. In this role he oversaw a significant increase in video consumption, with the company’s digital platforms recording more than 275 million views in 2015, a year-on-year rise of 177%.

"The knowledge and experience Tom possesses will be invaluable in helping us achieve an ambitious digital vision for the network, and we are delighted to welcome him to the team," says Danny Menken, Group Managing Director, ELEVEN SPORTS NETWORK. "Tom’s appointment is an investment in ensuring we provide an engaging cross-platform presence in each of our territories."

In his role, Middleditch will report into Menken and will be based in ELEVEN SPORTS NETWORK’s London headquarters, with direct responsibility for the strategy and development of ELEVEN’s digital platforms, as well as content and social media channels.

"I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to join this exciting and unique venture at such an early stage in its development," says Middleditch. "Robust and engaging digital solutions are critical to the sports broadcast industry, and I’m looking forward to helping ELEVEN achieve this vision."

In his time with Sky Sports, Middleditch also previously worked as a Senior Video Manager and oversaw various high-profile OTT projects including Sky Go, Champions League Events Centre, F1 Race Control and Sky Sports Xtra.
