TeamGym is the biggest competition discipline in Danish gymnastics; and by far the most popular of them all. After eight years away, the European Championships return to Denmark in 2020. Be prepared for an intense event for gymnasts as well as for the audience who can expect a multitude of activities before and during the championships.
The Danish gymnasts will be defending several years of gold, silver, and bronze in 2020 on home ground as Denmark has gained the hosting of the European TeamGym Championships, which will be held in the Ballerup Super Arena 15 - 18 October 2020.
"We are very pleased to be hosting the European TeamGym Championships 2020. When we last hosted the event, in 2012, we broke all records on the spectator rows as well as in front of the TV screens. With the European Championships back on home ground we get the all-time greatest possibility to promote even more what may be the most audience friendly gymnastics discipline, and we aim to show how an enthusiastic audience can lift the top off the roof, also within the gymnastics world," says Anders Jacobsen, chairman of the Danish Gymnastics Federation (GymDanmark).
