CTV Leads World Broadcasters With 88 Medals at Awards Competition in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA (June 29, 2010) – CTV has been recognized with more awards than not only any other Canadian broadcaster, but any broadcaster in the world at the 2010 Promax|BDA Awards Competition in Los Angeles. The CTV Creative Agency was honoured with 88 medals recognizing excellence in promotion and design, which includes 54 Promax|BDA Promotion and Marketing Awards and 34 Promax|BDA Design Awards. The CTV Creative Agency’s promotion and design for for the VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES was recognized with 36 awards.

Promax|BDA is the worldwide association of entertainment marketers, promoters and designers, representing more than 500 television stations and all major broadcast and cable networks from the U.S. as well as more than 3,000 individual members in 70 countries. The association provides members with education, recognition and interaction through conferences, award competitions and publications as well as networking opportunities.

For the BDA Design portion of the awards, honouring the best in international television design, The CTV Creative Agency captured seven Gold Medals, nine Silver and 10 Bronze, including eight BDA World Gold awards representing the best in international television design and promotion. For Promax, which represents Promotion and Marketing, CTV garnered 14 Gold Medals, 16 Silver Medals and 11 Bronze Medals as well as 13 Promax World Gold Awards.

The CTV Creative Agency won 36 medals – including 13 Gold – for its work on the 2010 Winter Games, far surpassing the number of awards won by any other Games’ broadcasters. NBC was honoured with 14 awards, while Australia’s Nine network received five. The company’s integrated creative campaign, entitled Believe, received 13 medals, including the World Gold for "Live Event Campaign."
