CSM Strategic (formally pmplegacy), the international strategic consultancy team at CSM, has been appointed to develop the Master Plan for the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG), following an official decree from President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The Games will be held in the Turkmen capital, Ashgabat, in 2017, and will be hosted in a number of world-class venues currently under construction in the Ashgabat Olympic Complex. The Games are planned to include a total of 17 Sports, taking place across 10 competition venues, involving 62 competing nations.

The Master Plan for the AIMAG will include detailed information on all the major building blocks required to set up the operational structures for an event of the scale of the 5th AIMAG. The Master Plan will be informed by the extensive major event experience of the CSM Strategic team, together with insight and recommendations from several other

comparable international events, such as the Doha 2006 Asian Games, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and Baku 2015 European Games.

The work will involve collaboration with numerous takeholders, including the Executive Preparations Committee for the 5th AIMAG, the Government of Turkmenistan and many of its Ministries, the Turkmenistan National Olympic Committee, Sport Federations involved in the Games as well as with Polimeks - the contractor that is building the Ashgabat Olympic Complex.

Chris Pollard, Director of CSM Strategic and the Programme Director for the Master Plan, said, "Turkmenistan has state-of-the-art venues within the Ashgabat Olympic Complex and we are delighted to be working with the Turkmen Government to develop a world-class Master Plan fit for such high-quality facilities. We will draw on our experience from numerous Major Events over the past decade to deliver a comprehensive plan that will enable Turkmenistan to stage an outstanding Games in 2017."
