ISEM Conference

The case studies of London 2012, Euro 2012, Sochi 2014 volunteerism and the 2011 Rugby World Cup are among the topics on the agenda for the International Sports Event Management Conference.

The event will also feature seven panel discussions ranging from "Governing Bodies and Host Cities" to "Temporary Facilities & Overlay, Why Nothing is Impossible."

The first day of the conference is ISEM’s Technology Focus Day, which showcases the latest gadgets and gizmos being used to run multi-day sporting events.

WADA Pharmaceutical Conference

WADA’s Pharmaceutical Conference changed venues. The new location is:

French Parliament House

Chaban-Delmas Building, Room Victor Hugo

101 rue de l’Université 75007, Paris

The one-day conference will feature two sessions under the theme "The Pharmaceutical Industry and the Fight against Doping: New Partnerships for Clean Sport."

The first session will focus on uniting the Pharmaceutical industry and WADA, while the second deals with how the two bodies can unite their operational frameworks to remain efficient in the fight against doping.

The event is hosted by the Ministry of Sports, Youth, Non Formal Education and Voluntary Organizations of France, the Council of Europe, UNESCO and WADA.

Beyond Sport United

Beyond Sport United announced four speakers for its lineup at Yankee Stadium.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, NASCAR CEO and Chairman Brian France, MLS Commissioner Don Garber and NBA Commissioner David Stern are all slated to speak at Beyond Sport’s Commissioner Roundtable.

The one-day event scheduled for Nov. 13 will highlight social change through sports teams and "showcase how these heroic brands and their historic resonance have the profound ability to become hubs of positive influence and resource."

HostCities Summit

An overview of strategies to hold a multi-day sporting event will be the top focus of the Emerging HostCities Summit.

Topics discussed range from"Great Host Cities: Understanding why they succeed" to "Financing and Funding Sporting Events" and "Sport and the Role of Government."

Speakers include Rio de Janeiro Mayor Eduardo Paes, IOC vice president Ser Miang Ng of Singapore and Juergen Miller, FIFA head of the 2014, 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

The conference will run Dec. 4 and 5 in Dubai.
