Doha GOALS Forum
Olympic swimming champion Ian Thorpe will speak on a panel at the upcoming Doha GOALS Forum.
Thorpe will join a group of top male and female athletes to discuss "how young athletes can be nurtured to play a role in their own careers through media training and business awareness." The panel will also discuss how sportsmen who have retired can continue their careers.
Other current and former athletes who are slated to speak at the forum include Carl Lewis, Oscar Pistorius, Francois Pienaar and Mark Spitz as well as LOCOG chair Sebastian Coe.
Doha GOALS Forum runs from Dec. 10 to 12.

ISEM Conference
Speakers from Innsbruck 2012, London 2012, Glasgow 2014, Sochi 2014 and Qatar 2022 will highlight the program at the 2012 International Sports Event Management Conference.
These speakers will give case studies to the events they managed, or are planning, during the three-day conference.
New for 2012 is the "Workshop and Technology Day" that starts off the conference, in addition to the aforementioned case studies.

Introductory Para-Taekwondo Workshop
Global Para-Taekwondo Consultancy will host a para-taekwondo workshop in Aruba.
The event will feature an introduction to para-taekwondo, a briefing on para-taekwondo’s place in the Paralympic movement, adaptive training, disability awareness training and more.
The event will take place at the Holiday Inn Resort in Santa Cruz, Aruba on Nov. 20.

CITYEvents Conference
The theme for this year’s CITYEvents conference will be "Preparing to bid, and bidding to win."
The conference will sport speakers from national, regional and city public sectors as well as international sports federations, event organizers and other key stakeholders.
Speakers will also represent a wide variety of successful – and unsuccessful – bids, sharing the lessons learned from each.
The cities of London, Kazan and Stockholm are a few of the speakers slated for the three-day conference.
CITYEvents runs from Nov. 14 to 16 in Lausanne.
