IWG World Conference on Women and Sport
Thomas Bach will speak at the 6th IWG World Conference on Women and Sport.
Bach will join Androulla Vassiliou, a member of the European Commission for Education, Culture, Multilingualism, Sport, Media and Youth, at the opening ceremony. They will be joined by Finnish President Tarja Halonen and IPC president Philip Craven.

The conference will take place on June 12-15 in Helsinki, Finland.
The conference theme will be "Lead the Change, Be the Change." More information will be available as it is announced.

The Finnish Olympic Committee will host a side event called "For the Love of Sport" before the conference June 10-12 in Helsinki.
A venue tour of Finnish facilities that have hosted large-scale sporting events, as well as a luncheon hosted by the Finnish Olympic Committee, is included in the events calendar, which can be found here.
"Finland - 'For the Love of Sport' - allows our international friends to visit and feel Finland in the heart of the Finnish sporting community," Risto Nieminen, president of the Finnish Olympic Committee, said in a statement.
"We, Finns, are known to be sports fanatics, and in Finland sport truly beats from the heart. Together with our partners we create events with a soul.
City Events
City Events announced the date and location for its fifth conference.
The conference will take place on November 13-14 in Paris, France with the theme, "Winning strategies for hosting sporting events." A call for conference proposals has been put out by City Events. Last year, the conference chose 3 of 20 proposals to speak at the conference.

Soccerex Global Convention
Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber is now confirmed to speak at the Soccerex Global Convention in September.
Garber will discuss the league's current expansion, and how it fits in with the American sports landscape. He will also discuss how the league currently turns a profit.
"Soccer has been completely revolutionised in the States since we hosted our event in Los Angeles way back in 1999, which coincided with Don being appointed commissioner of the MLS a few months later," Soccerex CEO Duncan Revie said in a statement.
Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson has also recently confirmed his participation in the global convention.
Johnson will discuss his training methods, and how they have been application in his life after the track.
"Having spent a significant amount of time in the UK I’m well aware of the tremendous commitment and resources soccer teams are putting into their sport science department, so I’m looking forward to meeting them at Soccerex and sharing our ideas with them," Johnson said about his keynote speech.
