2024 Debate atSponsors Sport Venue Summit

Key officials from Hamburg, one of Germany's potential 2024 Olympic bid cities will present the city's case at the Sponsors Sport Venue Summit.

Michael Neumann, Hamburg's senator for sport, will explain how the Hanseatic City is ready for the Olympics. Reinhard Wolf, deputy CEO for the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce will discuss the city's bid concept.

Berlin is the other possible German bid city.

Their presentation is scheduled for September 17.

Shaun Dawson, and former Head of Venue Development for the London Games, and Paul May, Executive Director and Chairman at Trivandi will speak about London's Olympic Legacy.

The conference will take place on September 17-18, and registration can be foundhere.

SPORTELMonaco Anniversary

SPORTELMonaco will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2014.

The conference will take place at the Grimaldi Forum from October 7-10.

According to conference organizers, 90% of the exhibition space has been sold out. Registration for the conference can be found here, and the conference program can be found here.

2014 IRB ConfEx

With 100 days to go, the 2014 IRB ConfEx announced itsRugby World Cup – Past & Future panel for the event.

The conference will take place in London on November 17-18.

Debbie Jevans, CEO of Rugby World Cup 2015 Tournament Organisers England Rugby 2015 and New Zealand Rugby Union CEO, Steve Tew, Head of Rugby World Cup Ltd, Alan Gilpin; Secretary General of Japan 2019, Akira Shimazu; and RFU Chairman, Bill Beaumont CBE will speak on the panel.

"Our aim is to build on the success of last year’s inaugural event by delivering a truly world-class conference on the issues that really matter to the rugby family and wider sporting community. We look forward to being able to reveal further panellists soon," Bernard Lapasset, Chairman of the International Rugby Board, said in a statement.

The IRB launched a new website for the conference, which can be found here.

"World Rugby ConfEx 2014 seeks to draw on the experiences of those involved right at the heart of these big events, while also providing a fantastic opportunity for people to gather, share knowledge, network and build relationships in a unique global environment."

"Participation is growing around the world. Rugby sevens is set to make its debut at the Olympic Games, and there will be less than a year to go before Rugby World Cup 2015 kicks off."

Registration for the 2014 IRB Rugby ConfEx is open. Registrants who book before August 31 will receive 20% off their booking fee.

City Events Conference

City Events announced the date and location for its fifth conference.

The conference will take place on November 13-14 in Paris with the theme "Winning strategies for hosting sporting events."

Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild will serve as the conference host with registration opening Friday, August 1.

A call for conference proposals has been put out by City Events. Last year, the conference chose 3 of 20 proposals to speak at the conference. Proposals should be tailored to a presentation that would fit under the 2014 theme, and "a bit of detail about their current situation and past experience pertaining to hosting sporting events."

Submissions are due before July 1 toPierre-Emmanuel Dangerat City Events.

City Events will also partner with the Arenas Economic Forum on September 4-5 in Paris. Details for that event can be foundhere.
