Scotland’s biennial national events conference is scheduled for Thursday at Glasgow's newly opened Emirates Arena.

EventScotland tells Around the Rings "the conference will celebrate and case study all that is good about the events industry in Scotland and look forward to perhaps the most exciting year in the Nation’s history.

"For a country of just over 5 million it punches well above its weight and the one day conference at one of Glasgow's newest Commonwealth venues the Emirates Arena will hear from internationally renowned speakers as well as challenge everyone to ensure that 2014 is truly a memorable year for the customer / spectator, the participant, the industry, media and partners and clearly demonstrate that Scotland is both The Perfect Stage for events and holidays."

World Sport Congress

The inaugural World Sport Congress is set for Feb. 26 and 27 of 2013.

The World Sport Congress tells Around the Rings "this inaugural event will be focused on sports infrastructure, specifically large scale projects, the challenges these pose and factors affecting commercial viability. The congress will welcome senior level speakers and delegations from across the industry including government, sportingcommittees, associations, stadiums, leagues, contractors, architects and consultants to discuss the current issues affecting large scale sporting infrastructure projects and how to ensure ROI in the future.

"The congress has been designed to fuel high-level discussion, elicit insights from the who’s who of the sporting world, and give delegates a 360 degree view of all the factors involved in the business. As well as featuring presentations from prominent sporting organizations worldwide, such as the London Organizing Committee for the Games (LOCOG), Amsterdam Arena, Glasgow Life, AS Roma, UK Sport and South Africa Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee."

Registration and information for the Congress can be found here.
