(ATR) The sports competition schedule for the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade is now complete.
Through collaboration with the International University Sports Federation (FISU), the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade Organizing Committee (GUOC 2015) has created a complete sports competition schedule for next year’s Gwangju Summer Universiade.
The competition will open on July 2nd with football and water polo, and last through July 14th. Athletes competing in the games will have the opportunity to win 272 gold medals in 21 sports, including athletics, swimming, shooting sport, taekwondo, and judo.
"Overall games preparations based on the complete sports competition schedule, as well as operational readiness in all necessary categories will be made thoroughly in order to host a successful Gwangju Universiade next year," GUOC secretary general Kim Yoon Suk said in an International Sports Press Association release on Friday.
The proposed schedule has been sent to FISU and will be finalized at the FISU Executive Meeting in October.
