The Mediterranean Beach Games "Patras 2019", held in August (25-31) were "clean"
games as no athlete was found positive to prohibited substances, after the doping
control of all the given samples.
Athletes of 12 sports from 14 countries out of 26 which participated in the
Mediterranean Beach Games, were tested and 76 urine doping control and 7 EPO
tests were conducted.
All the 83 samples were negative to prohibited substances, a great satisfaction for
the International Committee of Mediterranean Games, as it is proves that all the
Mediterranean Olympic Committees follow the rules of fair play and continue the
fight against doping.
The "clean" Games of Patras provide the ICMG with the determination to remain
firm to its principles for zero tolerance to the doping matters and to continue the
collaboration with International Olympic Committee, WADA and the National
Olympic Committees of the countries-members, in order to keep and improve the
anti-doping rules, in the direction of fair play and the values of Olympism.
