Olympian and Commonwealth Games and Pan Am Games gold medallist Ellie Black will lead the Canadian contingent, looking to improve on her fifth-place performance at Rio 2016. Halifax native Black is among the top gymnasts in the world, rankings fifth the floor exercise, balance beam and uneven bars, and seventh in vault. International teams to watch for include the perennially powerful American team who will showcase a new generation of athletes, a rejuvenated Romanian team looking to a veteran lineup to improve upon a poor showing at Rio 2016 and the team from China who will be on a mission to live up to the lofty standards their country has been known for in the world of artistic gymnastics.
