The Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Opening Ceremony will be a dazzling show of music and colour showcasing local talents and over 5,000 young performers. The spectacular opening show will be a treat for the senses with multimedia showcase, elaborate costumes, and bold performances with fire and water elements in the "Playing with Fire" and the "Reflecting Pool" performances.

Tickets to the Closing Ceremony on Thursday, 26 August 2010 at The Float@Marina Bay are also available. Tickets are priced at $80, $40 and $15.

Following the Singapore 2010 Opening and Closing Ceremony ticket balloting and payment collection exercise which concluded on 7 June, a proportion of tickets which were not transacted are now open for public sale. This allows people who did not participate in, or were not familiar with, the balloting exercise an opportunity to buy tickets and join in the occasion to celebrate the opening and closing of the first-ever Youth Olympic Games (YOG). Each ticket is also a Singapore 2010 DBS Visa Prepaid Companion Card1 which serves as the world's first "all in-one" event ticket card that can be used for admission into the venue, payment and transit.

Ticket sales to the first Youth Olympic Games have been brisk where more than 160,000, or more than 60% of tickets for sale, are currently unavailable. Of the 158 ticketed competition sessions at 16 competition venues, tickets to many sessions of Basketball, Diving, Equestrian, Fencing, Modern Pentathlon, and Swimming are no longer available.

Tickets that are selling fast are Athletics and Gymnastics, with less than 100 tickets available for all sessions of Archery, Boxing, Handball, Shooting and Taekwondo. The sporting competition tickets are priced at $10 (Preliminaries), $15 (Quarter Finals/ Semi Finals) and S$30 (Finals)5. Each ticket purchased is accompanied by a Singapore 2010 DBS Visa Prepaid Companion Card.

We encourage ticket holders to check the website, www.singapore2010.sg/ for the latest schedules before proceeding to the competition venues.

"I encourage you to take an active part in Singapore’s historic event as we host the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games and cheer the on Young Olympians".
