BWF World Superseries Finals Hits Halfway Mark -- Photodesk

(ATR) The 2016 BWF World Superseries Finals are halfway through and contenders are one step closer to winning a share of the $1 million purse.

The top eight athletes in each badminton discipline have convened in Dubai for the Finals, several of them being Rio Olympic gold medal winners.

Jan O Jorgensen of Denmark is leading the rankings in the men's singles competition and Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan in women's singles. Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda of Japan are number one in the men's doubles, Misake Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi of Japan in the women's doubles and Ko Sung Hyun and Kim Ha Na of South Korea in the mixed doubles.

Each match is being streamed live on the event website.

The Finals held at the Hamdam Sports Complex began on Dec. 14 and conclude on Dec. 18.
