Boxing Australia CEO Kable Kelleway today announced that Damien Hooper, Australia’s representative in the Light Heavyweight division at the coming Olympics had been sent home until further notice from training at the Australian Institute of Sport, Canberra.
Damien has been removed from the National Team’s Preparation Camp due to general behaviour breaches towards the National Coach, fellow Olympic Team-Members and Management.
Damien has been advised he will be able to rejoin the Australian Team’s Preparation Camp when he understands and undertakes to adopt the reasonable standards of good manners and respect a member of a team should extend to his team mates, his coaches and other people with whom he comes into contact.
Upon meeting these standards, Boxing Australia will welcome Damien back to the Team’s Preparation Camp, where he will be required to work closely with Boxing Australia’s High Performance service providers to ensure that he is well prepared for the 2012 Olympic Games.
