The Board of Directors, which held its inaugural meeting here today, provides governance oversight on key policy issues leading up to the final bid. Scheduled to meet as a full Board twice a year, members will also lend their expertise more frequently as participants on Board committees including audit, executive and governance/nominating committees. Membership on these committees is expected to be finalized over the next several weeks.

"The formation of Boston 2024’s board of directors further solidifies the important relationship between the City of Boston, the bid committee and the USOC. The enthusiastic support from each of the partners reflects the tremendous opportunity the Games provide," noted Larry Probst. "Our aligned approach to planning and governance enhances Boston’s bid and unites us in a common goal to make the 2024 Games transformative for Boston, and the Olympic and Paralympic movements."
