Bob Bowman Shares Successful Trajectory at Brazilian Olympic Congress

Behind the career of the greatest medalist in Olympic history, there is a coach ,Bob Bowman ,who helped guide the athletic training and development trajectory of Michael Phelps, a swimmer who captured 28 medals, including 23 gold from 2004 to 2016. Bowman, widely regarded as one of the most successful coaches in swimming history, will be in Brazil to participate in the Brazilian Olympic Congress, which will take place on the 13th of april in the WTC, in Sao Paulo.

A Professor inside and outside the pools, Bowman will be presenting his strategies of excellence as outlined in his book – The Golden Rules: 10 Steps to World-Class Excellence in Your Life and Work – that will include topics such as the essential pillars to create a high-performance culture; generating results and talents; strategic communication and management of people in adversarial environments.

"My coaching experience over the past 20 years has given me a unique perspective from which to view the sport of swimming and the Olympic experience," said Bowman. "There are many factors involved in the development of high-performance athletes and teams, and I am excited to share my insights, observations, and experiences with the Brazilian Olympic Congress. Success is a method and creating a strong and supportive environment across the entire organization is paramount to achieve excellence".

Bowman, who has guided his swimmers to 46 Olympic medals, including 23 individual medals and 14 individual gold medals, over the course of his illustrious career. He currently serves as the Head Coach for the Men’s and Women’s swimming programs at Arizona State University. A four-time member of the U.S. Olympic Team staff, including Head Coach of the Men’s team at Rio 2016, Bowman is a five-time "American Swimming Coaches Association" (ASCA) Coach of the Year, six-time USA Swimming Coach of the Year, and four-time recipient of the USA Swimming Foundation Golden Goggle award for Coach of the Year. A 2016 inductee into the International Swimming Hall of Fame and 2010 inductee into the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) Hall of Fame.
