(ATR) The world's fastest man made his mark on the Olympic record books in the Bird's Nest.
Usain Bolt won his first of three straight 100m finals in Beijing kicking off an eight year run of dominance in sprinting. Bolt would win the 100m and 200m in the Bird's Nest, and play a part in Jamaica's 4x100m gold.
The three medals were the first of Bolt's "triple-triple," winning the three events in three straight Olympics. His original 4x100m relay would be stripped because of a doping violation from a teammate years later.
