The Organizing Committee of Naples 2019 - 30th Summer Universiade, has chosen the project presented in a public competition by Balich Worldwide Shows for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Universiade to be held in Naples on 3 and 14 July 2019.

The 30th Summer Universiade Ceremonies will put Naples at the center of the world and celebrate university athletes with two unforgettable shows. Great Italian and international talents will be involved and will be announced during a press conference to present the creative project.

Balich Worldwide Shows designs, creates and produces large-scale events, integrating and emphasizing the uniqueness of different cultures in each show. The Olympic experience of Marco Balich - founder of the company with Gianmaria Serra and Simone Merico - goes from the artistic direction to the executive production of Ceremonies including Turin 2006, Sochi 2014, Rio 2016 (produced by CC 2016) and Flag Handovers of Salt Lake City 2002 and London 2012. The most recent appointments of Balich Worldwide Shows include the Ceremonies of the Asian Para Games of Jakarta 2018 and the PanAmerican Games of Lima 2019, in addition to "Giudizio Universale. The Sistine Chapel Immersive Show", the first permanent show on stage in Rome.

About his commitment as creative director of the 30th Universiade Ceremonies, Marco Balich told local newspaper Il Mattino: «Returning to a ceremony in Italy after Turin is a wonderful joy, I hope I can contribute to providing the right perception that Naples and Campania deserve. I feel very strong the responsibility for this investment that Region, Municipality and Coni do. I will try to be at the service of great, memorable hopes, full of contemporary emotions. We want to do something important for this city».
