With only three weeks to go until speakers take the stage at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Academy Campus’ Inclusion Summit in Rio de Janeiro between 15-16 September, Mike Peters, Chief of Staff at the IPC, and Stephen Frost, Principal of Frost Included and the Head of Diversity and Inclusion at London 2012, will be providing a preview of what participants can expect from the event during an exclusive interview that will be hosted by AXSChat, social media partner of the event, on Tuesday 23 August and followed up with a Twitter-based discussion among its community on the same day.

During the interview with AXSChat founders Neil Milliken, Debra Ruh and Antonio Santos, Mike Peters and Stephen Frost will not only look ahead to the Inclusion Summit and IPC Academy Campus as a whole, but will also share their views on inclusivity in the sporting and wider world. Stephen will outline how the London 2012 Paralympics raised the profile of persons with physical impairments in a positive manner and Mike will share his thoughts on the IPC’s aspirations and what they have done to build on the successes of London 2012 in the lead up to Rio.

The interview will be captured in a video format which will be hosted on the AXSChat website and YouTube on Tuesday 23 August for people to watch free of charge. The interview will then be discussed during a live Twitter-based chat at 3pm that same day New York (ET)-time/8pm London (BST)-time/9pm Bonn (CEST)-time, with participants being encouraged to pose their own questions for discussion that relate to the interview. Mike Peters and Stephen Frost will also take part in the Twitter discussion.

For people unable to take part in the live discussion on Twitter, the video will remain on the AXSChat website in the archive section for them to view at their leisure.

How to Join the Inclusion Summit-themed AXSChat Debate on Tuesday 23 August:

1. Watch the interview with Mike Peters and Stephen Frost during the day on Tuesday 23 August. This will be hosted at https://axschat.com/ and on YouTube.

2. To join in the AXSChat that will then discuss the interview on Twitter (at 3pm that same day New York (ET)-time/8pm London (BST)-time/9pm Bonn (CEST)-time), all you need to do is the following:

If you haven’t already, create an account with Twitter at https://twitter.com/ and follow the @AXSChat account for details.

For the chat you will need to follow the #AXSChat hashtag, as that is where all the questions and answers will appear.

There will be six different questions for the participants to answer, these will be posted in advance on the AXSChat Questions Page.

A new question will be posted every 10 minutes during the hour so we have Q1 to Q6 through the hour.

To answer the question, you will need to tweet your answer prefixed with A (for Answer) and the hashtags: #AXSChat and #inclusionsummit all within 140 characters.

Example:
