(ATR) The Seven Network in Australia is the latest broadcaster to pick up rights to the first ever European Games.
The network, the highest rated in Australia, also has a relationship with the International Olympic Committee as the country’s Olympic partner. having announced in August that it will carry the next three Olympic Games through 2020.
Baku 2015 chief operation officer Simon Clegg said of Seven: "Their commitment to the European Games underlines that this is the most important addition to the international sporting calendar for decades."
The European Games now has deals to broadcast the event in 57 countries.
"We see the European Games as a natural fit with our long-term commitment to the Olympic Games and our recent agreement to also broadcast the Paralympic Games," said Seven head of sport Saul Shtein.
"We are honored to be the network of the first European Games. We are proud of our long partnership with the IOC and the Olympic movement, and we look forward to our partnership with Baku 2015."
Baku Extends Metro Schedule for Games
The Baku Metro will work overtime during the European Games.
From June 12 to 28, the duration of the event, the Baku Metro will remain in service until 1:00 a.m. The usual closing time is midnight.
Service will be pushed to 2:00 a.m. on the night of the opening and closing ceremonies.
Further extensions may happen if necessary.
